Support for Teachers on H1-B Visas
AnchorEd exists to ensure that our H-1B teachers never feel alone in the ever-challenging visa process. We want them to know that they are seen, supported, and rooted in a community that honors their contributions. We want to lighten their burdens — not just through financial support, but through advocacy, belonging, and hope.
By alleviating some of the stress of the immigration process, we hope to empower educators to follow their passions and to live out God’s plan for their lives.

Our Story & Our Why

In early 2025, as new executive orders concerning immigration began to sweep across the nation, we found ourselves wondering what this could mean for the teachers we had come to know and love who were here on work visas and pursuing permanent residency in America.

Our love and genuine concern brought us to asking awkward questions and much to our relief, our teachers were gracious and thankful to have a space to talk. When we were able to sit down and fully listen, what we heard was humbling.

We heard stories of sacrifice — of families left behind, of missed birthdays and milestones, of deep longing balanced with deep purpose. We heard about the thousands of dollars they spend to simply stay in the country where they serve so faithfully, and the endless paperwork and legal hurdles they face to become permanent residents. We listened to teachers who wake up every day to educate our children while quietly carrying the weight of uncertain futures.

And through every conversation, one truth became clear: Our teachers are not just educators. They are role models, mentors, and dream builders. They have taught our children more than math or reading — they’ve taught them compassion, resilience, and the beauty of global community.

This is personal for us. We’ve seen the impact of these teachers in our own children’s lives — how they’ve helped shape kind, thoughtful, and globally-minded young people. And so, driven by a belief that every person has inherent value and worth, we committed ourselves to walking alongside them.

In a city like Dallas, where hundreds of teachers on H-1B visas work tirelessly to shape the future, we believe it’s time to give back. Because when we support the ones who teach our children, we’re investing in a better future for all of us.
